St. John's Antigua, August 25, 1999—The Directorate of Offshore Gaming, Mrs. Gyneth McAllister makes the following statement on behalf of the Government of Antigua & Barbuda.

In a statement made by Vancouver police spokesperson Anne Drennan in the Tuesday August 24 Yahoo News article A Canada Raid Worries Net Gambling Firm=s Investors@. Drennan reported that authorities in Antigua are working with Canada on the investigation into the operations of Starnet Communications International Inc. While the government of Antigua and Barbuda works with the Canadian Government on a continuous basis the specific references to assistance given by our Government to Canada in the investigation into the operations of Starnet Communications is inaccurate. To date the Government of Antigua and Barbuda has received no request for information from the Canadian Government with regard to Starnet Communications International Inc., or any of its subsidiaries in the state Antigua and Barbuda.
